About Lavanya
I am an NYC-based writer focusing on travel, sustainability, and conservation. My passion for covering wildlife-rich places began with watching nature shows two decades ago. Since then, I have never missed an opportunity to experience and learn about our precious wild places and species. I cared for rescued wallabies in Australia, met the last two Northern White rhinos in Kenya, swam with whale sharks in Mexico and sea lions in the Galápagos, saw the endangered mountain gorilla in Rwanda, and studied whales and dolphins in Costa Rica. In addition to conservation, I focus on impactful storytelling about communities, women’s empowerment, and sustainable and immersive travel.
