About the author
I first visited Vietnam in 2007 and planned to stay a few months. Nearly a decade later, it's still home. I'm drawn to the country's architecture, history, mythology, food and everyday stories, and I love venturing beyond the obvious to uncover places with character. I studied Southeast Asian Studies in London and then Sustainable Tourism in Glasgow, and have been covering Vietnam for Lonely Planet and other travel publications ever since.
