About Jaime

Jaime Jacques is a relentless water baby who was lucky enough to grow up amongst the wildflowers and waves of Nova Scotia. Frequent visits to India to visit her father's side of the family found her living a double life early on, between the atlantic ocean and the arabian sea. These travel experiences instilled in her a deep appreciation for tropical life as well as a responsibility to wield her privilege in positive ways whenever she could. Over the years Jaime has worn many hats, from bartender and journalist, to letter carrier and poet. Previously she worked in communications for aid organizations before going rogue in the northern triangle. In 2012 she bought a one way ticket to Guatemala and never looked back. She has been exploring and appreciating the region ever since, with a first edition El Salvador guidebook to her credit as well as dozens of articles about travel in Guatemala and Mexico. When she's not working to save money for her next adventure you can find her in her local cafe drinking way too much coffee and trying to get friends to read her latest favourite poem.
