Toondoon Botanic Gardens

These lush gardens comprise more than 80 hectares of tropical, subtropical and dry-rainforest environments, showcasing flora ranging from those of these latitudes to plants of far-north Queensland. There’s a visitor centre, a Japanese garden, an orchid house, and free guided tours at 10am on Thursdays (weather permitting). Keep an eye out for Krefft’s river turtles in Lake Toondoon.
