Gregory's Tree

Outback Northern Territory

The leader of the 1855 European expedition to these parts, AC Gregory, inscribed his arrival date into a baobab; it is still discernible (and is explained in detail through interpretive panels) at Gregory's Tree; 15km northwest of town. The tree is off the Victoria Hwy down a 3km unsealed road, which can become corrugated.
