Summer is upon us and its time to step out finally. While summer inadvertently means travel, it also means stepping out in your own city, or a neighboring one. We bring you some of the chicest new places to check this month in Delhi. From an elite club to a posh new restaurant, to residences and a delivery kitchen.
The Chambers, Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal, New Delhi has re-imagined and re-designed The Chambers business club. The new Chambers offers the quintessential elegance with stunning views of Delhi’s skyline. New features include Rayasina, a 60-seater restaurant; seven meeting rooms, of which one is designed by Italian luxury brand, Stefano Ricci; The Chambers Lounge, a sophisticated bar; and a cigar lounge. Rayasina and The Chambers Lounge offer Indian and international cuisine, rich in flavors and exquisite in its presentation. The menu features several world classics with a modern twist and specially crafted set menus. Cheese and wine pairings, dark chocolate and almond boards, and a wide range of beverages are some of the added touches. The service, as always, is warm, discreet yet highly personalized.
Pitaara Kitchen
Chef Udit Maheshwari’s Pitaara Kitchen was conceived with two thoughts in mind: first was to introduce the myriad flavors of Indian cuisine from the corners of the country and second to showcase the diversity of Indian food and its rich heritage. Pitaara, his delivery only venture, explores obscure ingredients, lost recipes, and forgotten traditions, something Udit is known for since his stint at café Lota and Triveni café. The menu uses 100% local produce from distant corners of India and marrys traditional flavors with a touch of modernity. From Bandel Cheese, sourced from the erstwhile Portuguese colony in Bandel near Kolkata, to Dogri Meat from Jammu, to bajra short crust bases, ragi phulkas and pulled pork samosa, the kitchen brings local yet novel flavors in meticulously researched recipes.
SAGA
A massive 190-seater restaurant, SAGA is spread over 2 levels and a sprawling alfresco space in the heart of Gurugram. The plush restaurant by the day turns into a high-energy nightclub in the evening and stands out for its size, décor, and what is supposed to be Asia’s tallest bar. The highpoint of SAGA however is the menu. Designed by Michellin Star chef Atul Kochhar, and his team the menu showcases a confluence flavours, textures, and ingredients from the heartland of India. Regional recipes like Himachali Sepu Vadi and Dal Moradabadi that are hardly known outside their home cities sit comfortably on the menu along with innovative dishes like cheese board naan and panchamrit ice cream.
Hyatt Delhi Residences
The all-new luxury residences in the heart of Delhi, Hyatt Delhi Residences are the latest from the luxury chain. Curated especially for the discerning traveler, Hyatt Delhi Residences include 124 well-appointed apartments, divided into bedroom apartments and duplex townhouses, with spacious interiors. The townhouses are fully serviced, fitted with a practical kitchen and provide sprawling views of the runway, the pool and lush green lawns. The spectacular sunset from the private balcony, patio and terrace is an added perk. Residents can use the in-room shopping program that helps them stock up the pantry before arrival should they want to cook. Guests can also avail in-room dining from The Hong Kong Club, Juniper Bar and AnnaMaya, the signature restaurants at Andaz.
