Lonely Planet review for Centre Pompidou
This centre has amazed and delighted visitors since it was inaugurated in 1977, not just for its outstanding collection of modern art, but also for its radical architectural statement.
The open space at ground level has temporary exhibitions and information desks, while the 4th and 5th floors house the Musée National d’Art Moderne, France’s national collection of art dating from 1905 onwards. About a third of the 50,000-plus works, including the work of the surrealists and cubists, as well as pop art and contemporary works, are on display.
West of the Pompidou, place Georges Pompidou and nearby pedestrian streets attract buskers, musicians, jugglers and mime artists, and can be a lot of fun.

avant garde moderne
melyuan recommends this,
Some large, state contemporary galleries sometimes feel a bit safe - but not the Pompidou. It's not a hostage to the history of its architecture but gives the feeling it's always searching for the edge of the contemporary art scene. (But of course still has the heft to stage retrospectives of the big grand-daddies of the modernist movement)

these place is absolutely amazing. Starting from the street artist to all the artist in the museum.
Tip: people from the european union doesn't have to pay. But if you say that you are from any european country even though you are not, it's free for you too. So basically this museum have a free entry -
Glad we did it

A wonderful museum with wonderful art in a wonderful part of town. Of our visit, this was the one museum we wished we had spent more time in. Picasso, Leger, Braque, and Matisse are abundant.
There are also some beautiful vistas from the top floor. -

can you be iconic and quirky at the same time?
djebru recommends this,
i love the Pompidou. i love the innards on the outside. i love that it's stuffed full of great modern masterpieces. i love that it's such a great counterpoint to the old-school grandeur of the Louvre. when in Paris, i try to pop in.
