Train

Metz’ train station (pl du Général de Gaulle) spiffed up for the TGV, is on the line linking Paris’ Gare de l’Est (€37.80, three hours, 10 daily) with Luxembourg (€12.40, 50 minutes, 16 to 21 daily). Direct trains also go to Nancy (€5, 38 to 61 minutes, 30 to 55 daily), Strasbourg (€20.40, 1¼ to 1¾ hours, four to eight daily) and Verdun (€6, 1¼ hours, five each weekday, one or two daily weekends).
