Chongqing Changjiang Sightseeing
Buy tickets for a river cruise at most hotels or the travel agencies around Cháotiānmén including Chongqing Changjiang Sightseeing. Cruises board at 18:30, serve dinner at 19:00, and cruise from 20:00 to 22:00. Just don't expect too much out of the food. They depart nightly, March through January, from Cháotiānmén Dock.
Most cruises sail around the peninsula and pass under both the Jialing and Yangzi bridges, giving you a good look at Chóngqìng by night when the grey is dressed up with a flash of neon.

River Cruises
Chóngqìng looks best from the water, especially at night when the city flashes with neon. Two-hour river cruises (游船 leave nightly from Cháotiānmén Dock at around 7pm. Buy tickets as you board the boats rather than from agencies or hotels. Most boats offer very similar trips and serve food on board for an extra cost. If you're stuck for choice, Jīnbì Huīhuáng, noticeable by its neon-gold crown, has been recommended by readers.

Cable Car Trips
A ride on either the Yangzi River Cable Car or the Jiālíng River Cable Car gives you a bird's-eye view of the murky waters. Both are within walking distance of the Liberation Monument. The Yangzi ride drops you off near the modern, riverside bar-and-restaurant strip on Nan'an Binjiang Lu. The Jiālíng ride takes you to the eye-catching Chóngqìng Grand Theatre and the Science Museum.
