Ambergris Caye & San Pedro Sights

  1. Bacalar Chico National Park & Marine Reserve

    Located at the northern tip of the caye, this national park and reserve is part of the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System World Heritage Site, declared in 1996. Several San Pedro tour operators run day trips to dive and snorkel here. There's a nature trail and Mayan ruins to explore on the land, while pristine coral and marine life await beneath the sea.

  2. Blue Hole

    The famous Blue Hole, part of the Lighthouse Reef, is one of Belize's natural wonders and the most unique dive site in the region. A popular day trip from San Pedro, the Blue Hole is renowned for its unusual appearance - a deep blue pupil with an aquamarine border surrounded by lighter shades of the reef.

  3. Hol Chan Marine Reserve

    Just a short boat ride from Ambergris Caye, Hol Chan (Mayan for a 'small channel' in the reef) is the most popular spot for diving and snorkeling. The longest-established marine reserve in Belize, it encompasses 13 sq km (5 sq mi) and is dotted with coral formations and a splendid array of fish.
