Lonely Planet review for Pacific Science Center

This interactive museum of science and industry once housed the science pavilion of the World’s Fair. Today, the center features virtual-reality exhibits, a tropical butterfly house, laser shows, holograms and other wonders of science, many with hands-on demonstrations. Also on the premises is the vaulted-screen Imax Theater, a laserium and a planetarium.

    actual Lucy!

    djebru recommends this,

my perspective on this museum is shaped by the special exhibit Lucy's Legacy. the main draw is the actual fossil remains known as 'Lucy', but the exhibition is a thoughtful presentation on the human history of Ethiopia, as well as paleoanthropological discussions of the development of homo sapiens. it was so good that we didn't leave ourselves much time for the rest of the museum, but what we saw was really great. there's a water play park outside, interactive body science stuff in the lobby, and a living colony of naked mole rats (ok, the naked mole rats are the main reason i saw nothing else - they were super cool). Lucy's there till March 09, so get there in the next few months if you can!
