Land
Bus
Croatia Express (250 502; croatiae@zd.t-com.hr; Široka 14) sells tickets to Zagreb, Split and Trieste (Italy), plus many German cities. From the bus station (211 035) there are buses to Zagreb (65KN to 165KN, 3½ to five hours, 20 daily), Rijeka (145KN, five hours, six daily), Split (75KN to 89KN, three hours, eight daily) and Dubrovnik (170KN to 210KN, eight hours, seven daily).
Train
There are two fast trains to Zagreb (184KN, seven hours) and three slower trains (134KN, 9¾ hours) that change at Knin, but the bus to Zagreb is quicker and passes by Plitvice Lakes National Park.
Boat
On the harbour, Jadrolinija (254 800; Liburnska obala 7) has tickets for all local ferries, or you can buy ferry tickets from the Jadrolinija stall on the Jadrolinija dock. Buy international tickets from Jadroagent (211 447; jadroagent-zadar@zd.t-com.hr; Poljana Natka Nodila 4), just inside the city walls.
Air
Zadar’s airport is about 10km east of the town centre. There are daily flights to Zagreb and the Croatia Airlines bus meets all arrivals (20KN). A taxi costs about 175KN. Croatia Airlines (250 101; www.croatiaairlines.hr; Poljana Natka Nodila 7; 8am-4pm Mon-Fri, 9am-noon Sat) has all flight and ticket information.
