Bass Strait Maritime Museum, Devonport, Tasmania, Australia.

Housed in the former harbor master’s residence (c 1920), the Bass Strait Maritime Centre (bassstrait.museum; adult/child $12/5) is a small but worthwhile museum displaying the maritime history of Bass Strait and Devonport. Among its large collection of ship and ferry models is the "Our First Mariners Sea Country People" display, looking at Tasmania’s Aboriginal seafarers and canoe-building traditions. The knockout exhibit is an interactive simulator that allows museum-goers to sail the SS Woniora in or out of the Mersey River mouth – choose between a clear day and a stormy night.
