Krenkerup is a lordly estate southeast of Sakskøbing with a private, picture-perfect 1631 moated castle and celebrated local brewery. Its German-style beers include the excellent 1367 Premium and prize-winning, honeyed bock, though some other brews are far less successful. Taste eight varieties on tap at the oddly hard-to-spot Traktørstedet (beer-garden pub) on a courtyard of red, half-timbered outbuildings.
Although open each summer afternoon, from September to May it's only accessible four hours a week (on Fridays). Brewery tours are held at 12.30pm some Tuesdays, but call ahead to confirm.
