Perhaps it's due to Yunnan's exotic culinary allusions to Southeast Asia, but this crossover cuisine has long been held dear by foreign foodies in China. Little Yunnan plays to the crowd with light, aromatic dishes, a wine list and a relaxed, hutong-chic vibe degrees closer to 'date night' than most local eateries.

The menu sacrifices authenticity here and there, offering Thai curries and spicy crayfish, but stick to the classics – fried river fish, Dai-style mint salads, Yunnan goat cheese, 'over-the-bridge' noodles – and your sojourn to China's southwest is sure to be a pleasant one.
