Sova wattermill on Kampa island, UNESCO protected, gallery of Modern art, founded by Meda Mladkova. Prague, Czech Republic.

The Museum Kampa (museumkampa.cz), located in splendid Kampa Park, is frequently bypassed by visitors who may not even realize the museum is there. Established by art collectors Meda and Jan Mládek and housed in a renovated mill building, this excellent gallery is devoted to 20th-century and contemporary art from Central Europe. Look for the bronzes by Cubist sculptor Otto Gutfreund and paintings by the celebrated Czech master František Kupka. The most impressive canvas is Kupka’s Cathedral, a pleated mass of blue and red diagonals. The museum also hosts high-quality temporary exhibitions.
