Shoelicious! This Osaka chocolatier is creating super-realistic men's shoes from chocolate
A talented chocolatier in Osaka, Japan, is putting his best foot forward with an exclusive collection of chocolate men's shoes that will be ready in time for Valentine's Day. Motohiro Okai from Rihga Royal Hotel’s chocolate boutique, L’éclat, has crafted nine pairs of men's shoes entirely from chocolate. They would make a perfect romantic gift for a stylish man with a sweet tooth.
The new “Gentleman’s Radiance” line is incredibly realistic, and the attention-to-detail paid to crafting each shoe is magnificent. From soles to stitching to shoelaces, the edible footwear is entirely made from chocolate, complete with the shine and finish that comes with a pair of real shoes.
They cost as much, or even more, than real shoes as well, with the price tag of 29,160 yen/US$258.45 reflecting the many hours of work that has gone into each pair. They measure 26 centimetres/10.2 inches in length, and come in different shades of brown, from light through to dark brown.
Of course, no luxury pair of shoes would be complete without a set of shoe care accessories. These chocolate men's shoes come with a chocolate shoehorn and shoe cream.
Orders for the nine pairs of shoes will be accepted from 20 January to 7 February 2017 at the hotel, and delivery is scheduled for 7 to 14 February.
