St Gerard’s

Church in The Valley

Built in 1966, after the previous chapel was destroyed by a 1961 hurricane, St Gerard’s has a unique facade of pebbles, stones, timber and tiles, open-air side walls and a ceiling shaped like the hull of a ship. It's now used for events such as weddings, but it's possible to visit on guided tours run by the National Trust of Anguilla. The larger adjacent church, built in 2008 in a similar style, is now Anguilla's main place of Catholic worship.
