Remote, resplendent and idyllic, this is where the ribbon road ends amid lava-rock pinnacles, lush wet forest and postcard-perfect beaches. In the wet season the cliffs are positively weeping with waterfalls. It’s also the site of controversy, as many of the luxury homes on the point were built atop ʻiwi kupuna (ancient Hawaiian burial grounds). No Kauaʻi adventure is complete without a drive to the end of road and at least a short hike along the roadless Na Pali Coast.
