Tuve

Top choice in Wan Chai & Northeast Hong Kong Island

From the dungeon-like entrance to the brass-and-concrete slab of a front desk, everything here spells design. Industrial glam continues in the rooms where concrete walls are accented with gold, and grey marble plays off against wood tones and wired glass, all grounded by immaculate white linen.

Curiously, Tuve's design was inspired by a series of art panoramas of Sweden’s Lake Tuve taken by photographer Kim Høltermand. Even the drinks in the minibar were hand-picked by its owner, a product designer, for their compliance with overall aesthetics. Design fanatics will have a field day, but if your lodging tastes tend towards the traditional, Tuve might not be for you.
