Fez's original medina hostel is an amiable, hippie-ish dar-turned-crash-pad close to Bab El Jdid. Each of the five dorm rooms has between six and 12 beds, plus a large shower room (ventilation could be better); an en-suite double is up on the plant-covered terrace. There's a communal kitchen and in-house dinners cost Dh40. The staff can arrange tours, activities and cooking classes.
