Utano Youth Hostel

Utano is a large, modern, well-organised and well-maintained hostel convenient for the sights of Northwest Kyoto (though it’s a hike to reach other parts of town). There are a few Japanese-style tatami rooms if you prefer a more traditional feel, and friendly staff and nightly cultural events are added bonuses. There is an 11.30pm curfew.
