Church Cove

The Lizard

This golden sandy cove would be worth a visit in its own right, but doubly so thanks to its peculiar landmark – the tiny 15th-century Church of St Winwaloe, which is half-buried among the dunes behind the beach. It's a wonderfully photogenic spot, so bring your camera. The little-known patron saint to whom the church is dedicated was born in Brittany sometime in the 5th century.
