Welcome to Angastaco
Talk about a special town waiting to be discovered – tiny Angastaco sits among some of the most dramatic rockscapes of the valley route. Located 40km south of Molinos and 54km north of San Carlos, it's an oasis with vineyards, fields of anise and cumin, and the ruins of an ancient pucará (walled city). Just south of town, back on RN 40 you'll navigate spectacular terrain, unofficially known as the Angastaco Natural Monument. Beauty is here in spades, the local population is inviting and warm, and there are some mom-and-pop bodegas too. One day the mass tourism dollar will discover her gifts, so get here soon.
Angastaco has an ATM and gas station, and the entire town is blessed with municipal wi-fi.
