Klassz

Erzsébetváros & the Jewish Quarter

Permanent fixtures on the menu here include foie gras in its various avatars and native mangalica pork. More unusual (and fleeting) dishes are lamb and vegetable ragout and duck with cerries and walnuts. The food is of a very high standard. Owned by Bortársaság, the local wine society (they have a shop attached), Klassz is mostly about wine, however – Hungarian, to be precise.

Here you can order wine by the 10cL (100mL) measure (990Ft to 6500Ft) from an ever-changing list of up to four dozen wines to sip and compare. Two-course weekday lunch is 1990Ft.
