Kanda Myōjin

Kanda Myōjin is one of Tokyo's oldest and most prestigious shrines, set in its current location since 1616 (though the current building itself is not that old). In addition to the rather grand gate and main shrine, don't miss Edo-jinja, a small sub-structure where you can see one of the elaborate mikoshi (portable shrines) used in the temple's famous festival. As the nearest major shrine to Akihabara, Kanda Myōjin sells amulets to protect your electronics and favorite animated characters.
