Franz Kafka Museum

Franz Kafka is arguably Prague’s most famous native son. The German-Jewish author was born here in 1883, and Prague obviously played an important role as the setting for much of his work (though Prague is rarely – if ever – mentioned in the books and stories). That said, the rather dry Franz Kafka Museum (kafkamuseum.cz) is directed more at true fans than the general public. Exhibits explore the complex relationship between the author and his birth city through letters, photographs, period newspapers and publications.
