Olomouc's Town Hall dates from the 14th century and is home to one of the quirkier sights in town: an astronomical clock from the 1950s, with a face in socialist realist style. The clock was undergoing extensive renovation during the time of research, and the building and tower were closed to visitors. The work is not expected to finish before early 2021.
