Welcome to Adilcevaz
Snowmelt from the year-round snowfields on Süphan Dağı flows down to Adilcevaz, making its surroundings lush and fertile. On the western edge of town is the Ulu Camii, built in the 13th century, and still used for daily prayer.
From the centre of town, take a taxi to the Kef Kalesi, another Urartian citadel perched higher up in the valley (about TL40 return).
The best accommodation in town is the Cevizlibaǧ Otel, handily located midway between the otogar and the town centre. The spacious rooms are trimmed in shiny marble with wooden floors and spotless bathrooms. There's a good restaurant, and it's a short stroll to lakefront tea gardens.
