Almost halfway up the west coast of Tablas, Odiongan is an ordinary port town with a grey-sand beach, accommodation options, a few good eateries and sometimes functioning ATMs. Kanidugan, a celebration of the coconut crop, is held on 5 April.
The tiny Provincial Tree Park & Wildlife Sanctuary in barangay Rizal (P250, 30 minutes by motorcycle taxi) makes for a pleasant morning walk. For beaches head south to Ferrol. For a longer excursion, take the rugged and scenic road north to San Andres, where there are waterfalls to explore.
