The old granite village of St Just has been linked with mining and quarrying for centuries, but these days it's mainly known as a hub for artists, sculptors and creative types. It's a stout, stern village, hewn from stone and granite – look out for the village green, known as the Plen-an-Gwary, where 'mummers' plays' would have been staged during medieval times.
