LP Pathfinders: top Instagrams from June 2015

The outskirts of Las Vegas, a pool in paradise, a mosque, some miniature panda bears, and a pathway of rooftops to the sea in Lisbon. Quite the variety of subjects in our new Pathfinders Instagram round-up!

Each month we'll be sharing the best captures from our Pathfinders community. Here are our selections for June.

Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada, USA

'Las Vegas has more to offer than just the strip. An hour away is Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada's oldest state park. The sun and heat are relentless in the summer out in the desert, but the short and narrow canyon of White Domes trail gave us a brief break from the heat.' - Katie Lutz, From Shores to Skylines

Why we like it: The play between the shadows and the sunlight; the asymmetry of the 'crack' down the middle, following the path; the overall block of burnt amber colour which really catches the eye.

Ubud, Bali

'A tropical valley view on the outskirts of Ubud, Bali, with a gorgeous sunset to top it off.' - Erin Bender, Travel with Bender

Why we like it: A crisp capture, and an idyllic setting that draws you in and transplants you right to that very pool's edge. Take us there. Now.

Putrajaya, Malaysia

'While it was not my first visit to Malaysia's Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque, it was the first time that the water fountain in the courtyard was not on, leaving the small pool with very still water and a great reflection of the entrance to the mosque, further enhancing its beauty.' - Ramble and Wander

Why we like it: The perfect reflection of the entryway in the water, the contrast of the strip of green in the middle against the more neutral shades of grey, and the general sense of serenity.

Seoul, South Korea

'Spotted in Italy, Switzerland, Malaysia, France; now the traveling pandas are in South Korea to raise awareness of the decreasing number of pandas in the world.' - Brock and Tanj, A Travelogue

Why we like it: The way your eye starts on the left side and slants down with the line of pandas. The focus on the singular panda sitting up and looking at us from the bottom left corner. And more than anything: it just makes us smile.

Lisbon, Portugal

'I'm spending a month in Lisbon, and this was taken during one of our daily neighbourhood walks. Lisbon's colourful buildings were built on seven hills, so it's a city of stunning views, like this one.' - Yasmine, Peeking Duck

Why we like it: The simple contrast of the similarly shaded colours: the red of the roofs, the off-white of the buildings, and the blue water in the distance. Also, the horizon line being higher up than usual in the photo.
