Private Day Trip from Barcelona: Wine Tasting in the Vineyards

Are you a wine lover looking for a beautiful getaway from Barcelona? This private day trip is the perfect opportunity to discover the Penedes region between Villafranca del penedes and the rocky mountains of the Garraf natural park. Known internationally for wineries such a Torres or Codorniu, the Penedes is only a 45 minute drive from Barcelona. Leaving the big wineries aside, we will visit 2 local family wineries. First stop will be a local Cava producer in the majestic hills of Subirats. One of the family members Marçal, will show us around the property while explaining the secrets of Cava making. If you do not know the difference between Cava and Champagne, she will be more than happy to explain you! After tasting 2 different Cavas, it will be time to head for lunch in an authentic small local restaurant to eat some of Catalonia's best tapas. Note that other lunch options can be offered so all you need to do is letting me know in advance!In the afternoon, we will get to know more about the local wines in an organic winery near Vilafranca del Penedes. You will become familiar with organic wine making and the biodynamic techniques they use. Our host will share many useful tips for both seasoned wine aficionados and beginners to enjoy the moment and find the unique flavours of their various wines. The tasting is comprised of 1 cava, 1 white and 2 red wines.To end the day in style, we will drive back to Barcelona via the scenic coastal road between Sitges and Casteldefells at the feet of the Garraf mountains.

Private Wine Tour Cooking & Sunset tasting in Penedes - Half Day from Barcelona

With this half-day tour, you will enjoy the convenience of being pick up at your hotel by an expert local guide to discover the landscapes of the most  famous Catalan wine region. Perfect for enthusiasts who want to discover wines for all tastes and palates. After lunch, we will go to Sant Sadurni d´anoia, where we will enjoy a visit to a family winery that has opted to bottled the landscape, we will  do the tasting of two cavas (sparkling wine) in the vineyards while watching the sun go down. During the tasting your guide will introduce you to this paradise for  #winelovers. After the tasting we will part to Vilafranca del Penedes, a village nearby to do a workshop of Catalan cuisine, with "Pa amb Tomaquet", cured meats, cheeses, olive oil and, of course, tapas.
