Live like a pioneer in one of these cabins in Yosemite.

Yosemite Pines RV Resort and Family Lodging, located just 22 miles from the western gate of the California park, has introduced a new glamping option that will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. The new Conestoga wagons are large covered wagons that provide a lot more comfort now than they did in the Old West. It’s the first spot in Northern California to offer the massive tents, which hold a king-size bed and bunk beds. Luckily you won’t have to risk dysentery like the unfortunate travelers on the Oregon Trail; the wagons have heating, air conditioning, microwaves, refrigerators and even a coffee maker.

Spend the night in a pioneer cabin.

If you’re not interested in pioneer life, you can always check out the yurts, where you can enjoy nature without giving up on all of the luxuries of a cabin. For those who want a retro vibe and a bit more comfort, there are also classic trailers like the 34’ Airstream, 34' Silver Avion, 31' Silver Avion or a 32' Boles Aero. Naturally, there are also classic cabins where guests can stay the night, many of which have full kitchens and living rooms.

The resort offers easy access to Yosemite – one of the most popular national parks in the US – but there are also many amenities on site to keep families entertained. There is a swimming pool, petting farm, bocce ball and volleyball courts, a fitness trail and more.

Prices for a Conestoga wagon for four people ranges from US$139 (£108) to $279 (£217) a night, depending on the season. Learn more about the resort here.
