David Bowie and Imam’s former Caribbean home is up for rent for the first time and at a rather inaccessible price point - $70,000 a week! The house went for sale earlier this year also, coming in at $20 million.

The home is owned by British billionaire Simon Dolan. The holiday retreat has been called the Mandalay Estate since 1989 and is located on the private island of Mustique that's part of  St Vincent and The Grenadines. The retreat offers all the best in tropical get-aways, with amazing views of the Atlantic as well as infinity pools, koi ponds and beautiful verandas.

The 6.2 acre home is decorated in Balinese style and featured in Architectural Digest in 1992, when Bowie posed shirtless with a saxophone for the shoot. Speaking to the Digest then he said, ““It’s a fantasy island. Everybody just builds a getaway from it all so they can get there and see the same people they see all around, but in a holiday situation.”

The comment may have referred to the scores of other celebrities who inhabit the island, including Mick Jagger, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Jeremy Clarkson.

The fees are pretty steep, but they do drop between Christmas and Easter to a mere $40,000 a week!
