This attractive but pricey property has nine rooms, three loft apartments and three separate self-catering houses spread over 5 hectares of gardens and forest with a raging creek at the bottom. Spacious rooms are rustic chic with exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings and fireplaces. The pool is a bonus. Multi-course evening meals (from M$500) available.
The rancho is owned and run by Pablo and Lisette, a Mexican-French couple who are passionate about butterflies. They show background videos to interested guests, have a substantial library on the subject and can arrange tours of all four sanctuaries.
