Welcome to Strøget & the Latin Quarter
Pedestrianised Strøget (pronounced ‘stroll’) weaves through Copenhagen’s historical core from Rådhuspladsen to Kongens Nytorv. Technically consisting of five streets, it’s a restless ribbon of shoppers and street performers of varying talent. The real draws, however, lie off the main drag. It's here that you'll find many of the area's most interesting sights, restaurants, bars and boutiques. Many dot the atmospheric streets of the old Latin Quarter, as well as the streets skirting it. Among them is Copenhagen's austere, sculpture-graced cathedral and King Christian IV's curious, 17th-century Round Tower.
