If you're on the hunt for a camper van, a new pop-top electric camper just entered the market. Nissan recently disclosed that it is introducing an e-NV200 camper van, which will be entirely powered by battery, along with two new regular campers.
The automobile manufacturer showed the new regular camper vans, the NV300 and NV200, at the recent Madrid Motor Show, and announced that the e-NV200 will also be released and will have zero emissions. It will be powered by a 40kWh battery and can travel a maximum range of between 200km and 300km per charge. A full charge using the onboard charger would take about 7.5 hours, so some may not feel it is suitable for covering longer distances in one go.
It is certainly a great idea for shorter distances, as all-electric versions could significantly reduce the cost of the camper's operation and eliminate the pollution generated. At night-time, the roof pops up and the campers can be converted into comfortable bedrooms.
The images for the NV300 model show a compact but efficient layout that includes a kitchen block with stove, sink and refrigerator, swivel front seats, window shades, heating and a folding-seat bed. The NV300 can also accommodate four people thanks to its pop-top sleeper roof.
“The new Nissan Camper range will allow the most adventurous to have a balcony with views of the most incredible places in the world and enjoy the essence of travelling with family or friends,” said Francesc Corberó, communication director of Nissan Iberia.
The Nissan e-NV200, NV200 and NV300 camper vans are only launching in Spain for now and will be available with a range of customisation options, but the company says that there has been great interest from other countries. For further information, see here.
