John Glenn Astronomy Park

Observatory in Southeastern Ohio

The Hocking Hills claim some of the country’s darkest skies, which is why the John Glenn Astronomy Park, slated to open in spring 2018, promises to be an amazing opportunity for earthlings obsessed with the universe. A 28-inch permanent telescope, plus smaller moveable telescopes, allow gazers to peer through a retractable roof at stars, planets, the moon, nebulae, galaxies and comets, with astronomers and other star experts nearby to interpret what you’re seeing.

There is also a Solar Plaza with six different sun slots where the sun’s rays are captured at key points throughout the year.
