If you fancy the idea of vacationing in US cities with the greatest number and variety of activities to occupy your time, a new report outlining the country's most fun cities might give you a steer.
Personal-finance website WalletHub released its report on 2019's Most Fun Cities in America, comparing more than 180 cities across 66 areas, including fitness clubs, movie costs and average open hours of breweries. The most fun cities were found to be 1. Las Vegas 2. Orlando 3. New York City 4. Miami 5. Chicago 6. Atlanta 7. San Francisco 8. Portland 9. San Diego and 10. Los Angeles.
It's hardly surprising that Las Vegas came in first, given its range of casinos, nightclubs and performances by A-list entertainers, as well as big-budget stage shows and seasonal casino residencies. There are enthralling Cirque du Soleil shows to enjoy, and a massive volume and concentration of the Strip's celebrity chefs, lauded fine-dining restaurants and America's favourite food franchises.
Foodies will be in heaven if they head to New York, which was found to have most restaurants, based on population. It also has the most playgrounds. San Francisco and Boston have the highest share of the population with walkable park access, while San Francisco has the most dance clubs.
