An eight ft king cobra, owned by Florida resident Mike Kennedy, has escaped after its enclosure was damaged by storms in the area.

A member of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has joined a team of nine others to search Kennedy’s property for the snake. Locals are being advised to take caution before letting pets out or stepping out into their back gardens and should not attempt to catch the snake should they spot it. The king cobra is extremely venomous, but Kennedy, who has a license to own these deadly snakes, has said the cobra poses little threat to people commenting that ‘all it wants to do is stay hidden’.
