While the rest of us have to put up with long queues and even longer walks to the gate while travelling through the airport, some celebrities manage to do it in style. Chrissy Teigen recently revealed that she avails of a private terminal that helps well-known people to avoid the paparazzi and the downsides to flying.

When someone on Twitter asked her if celebrities are "just hustling through the airport trying to make it to your gate on time," the star shared her travel experience. “There is a terminal a mile from the airport that you pay membership for," she explained. "They do the same security privately and take you to the plane in a car.” As she lives in Beverly Hills, Chrissy is believed to be referring to The Private Suite, the airport’s luxury terminal that opened in 2017 at LAX.

The Private Suite was set up to offer the glitterati an exclusive airport experience at LAX. It is located away from the rest of the airport and prying paparazzi lenses and is open to members only. It is run by the LA-based security firm Gavin de Becker & Associates. Travellers are screened by the TSA in the private terminal and don't have to deal with their baggage. Members have a team of eight people to tend to their needs, including several drivers to drive them across the tarmac and straight to the plane.

Members can either hang out in their own private suites or a shared lounge when waiting for their flights. Some of the suites are geared toward families, and they come with food and a fully-stocked bar. Free pre-flight massages and manicures are included to help alleviate the stress of flying. This luxury is available for a $4500 (€4063) annual membership fee. There is also a terminal fee of $2700 (€2437) for domestic flights and €3000 (€2708) for international flights every time you fly and you get to bring three people with you.
Charges for non-members are higher and further information is available here.
