Good news if you’re the type of person that daydreams about stepping into your favourite animated universe; the world’s first ever Cartoon Network Hotel is opening in Lancaster, Pennsylvania next year.
Featuring an array of character-themed guest rooms and dream suites, the hotel describes the experience of staying there “like having a sleepover…in a cartoon”. Guests can dine in the Cartoon Kitchen and dig in to delicious dishes straight out of their favourite shows (cue the bacon pancakes song from Adventure Time), while a selection of day activities and experiences will keep the whole family entertained while they stay at the resort. The Bearista Café will serve up snacks and drinks, and features the We Bare Bears crew, while The Land of P’Oool Concession Stand beside the outdoor pool will offer frozen drinks and things like salads and sandwiches.
The nine-acre destination is currently taking bookings for 2020, and features an interactive lobby filled with surprises, a water play zone, an outdoor amphitheatre with an oversized movie screen, fire pits and more. The hotel boasts 165 rooms, and offers guests the chance to customise their stay by choosing their favourite cartoon from The Amazing World of Gumball, Adventure Time, Ben 10, Powerpuff Girls, Steven Universe and We Bare Bears.
“With just the right mix of technology, design and animation, we’re aiming to bring our characters to life in a way that we haven’t seen done before”, said Christina Miller, president of Cartoon Network-Adult Swim- Boomerang. “We can’t wait to be part of many family vacations with the ultimate Cartoon Network experience.”
The hotel features a Cartoon Network store and will host special occasions, events, parties and is located right next to Dutch Wonderland, a sprawling 48-acre amusement park.
