BauBax first came on the scene back in 2015, after husband and wife team Hiral and Yoganshi Shah launched a crowdfunding campaign for their “ultimate travel jacket”, a cleverly designed adaptable piece of clothing that boasted 15 different features. The product was a hit, raising over US$11 million and going on to become the fourth most-funded project in crowdfunding history. Now, their company has grown, and they have just unveiled a new product – travel pants that are designed to be comfortable, stylish and extremely hard-wearing.

Made with sustainable materials – a blend of merino wool and bamboo viscose - the pants are available in three styles for men; athletic chinos, slim chinos and twill joggers – and two styles for women; trouser leggings and twill joggers. The trousers have been designed to be stain and water resistant, lightweight, sweat-wicking, packable and quick-drying, as well as offering odour control and temperature regulation.

When it came to designing the new line, BauBax consulted with their travel jacket backers, asking them what they were looking for in a good pair of travel pants. According to the company, the feedback was unanimous, with the majority of people picking comfort as their main priority. They used that as the baseline for the creation, working to make the trousers stylish also. “Traveling for extended periods requires comfortable clothing that won't cause irritation. BauBax Travel Pants are designed as a distinctly more fashionable option to traditional sweatpants and travel comfort wear. People are loving the fabric and the built-in stretch,” BauBax told Lonely Planet.

The trousers have merino wool on the outside and bamboo viscose on the inside. The interior keeps the wearer cool and absorbs body sweat, while the merino wicks it away and evaporates it on the outside. The materials also offer UV protection and are resistant to bacterial growth. The pants are outfitted with five pockets designed to keep travel essentials on hand.

The company has also created a line of travel shoes in a number of different styles for both men as women, as well as bamboo travel t-shirts.
