Welcome to Ossuccio & Isola Comacina
Overlooking a tranquil stretch of Lake Como, the tiny village of Ossuccio has much history in its narrow lanes, with a few Romanesque vestiges and an archaeological museum that peers back through the centuries. There are also two star attractions nearby. The first is the Isola Comacina, a tiny island just offshore with medieval ruins and a human history that predates the Romans. Ossuccio's other attraction lies 1km uphill from the lakefront – the Sacro Monte di Ossuccio (the Sacred Mountain of Ossuccio), a chapel-lined walking route that has been a pilgrimage destination for centuries.
