Museo Paleocristiano

Friuli Venezia Giulia

The Early Christian Museum is an archaeological site as well as a museum, housed on the site of an ancient Christian basilica, the mosaic floor of which has been uncovered and is visible from raised walkways. A Coptic-style altar with 12 stools for the Apostles has also been uncovered and is typical of early Eastern traditions. Aside from the fine mosaics, there's a large collection of funerary monument gathered from the surrounding area.
