The Uxlabil stands on a small coffee plantation on the southern edge of San Juan's bay. Made by local artisans from natural materials, the four-level structure blends seamlessly into the hillside gardens that are rich in birdlife. Featuring hand-carved stone trimmings, all the rooms face the lake and have excellent terraces looking straight at the Rostro Maya.

The restaurant serves organic food and coffee. You can ask to be dropped off at the dock; if arriving from the town, hike down to the lake and follow the path along the bank.
