Hanstholm has an interesting wartime museum and is the northern boundary of one of Denmark’s new national parks. But at first glance it's a charmless place – thanks largely to the fact that a small, lacklustre shopping centre serves as the modern town’s heart. However, there are some places worth seeking out. There's still plenty of fish-factory action down at the harbour, and some excellent places to eat there and in the heights above town.
