Clifton has worked in travel publishing for a quarter of a century, commissioning, writing and editing his way around the world. He's covered the UK, Ireland, Iceland, Turkey, Southeast Asia, California and Mexico for Lonely Planet, and has been lucky enough to visit those and 40 other countries. Highlights? Whales and cinnamon buns in Iceland's Westfjords (the former "watched", the latter "eaten"). Sunrise at Angkor Wat in Cambodia (very humid). Cycling across San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge (something everyone should do at least once).
