UK tourists have been taken in by fake Turkish e-visa scams that were only discovered when the visitors landed in the country and presented the counterfeit visas at immigration. Holidaymakers have been warned to ensure they only buy an e-visa from the official government website; evisa.gov.tr/en. About 100 tourists have been affected so far and have been forced to buy a valid visa at a higher cost on arrival in Turkey. Technically, all visas should be purchased before landing in the country.
